Praise You Jesus. Praise You Lord, praise You Lord. I want you to make this declaration with me just say, Jesus I receive Your Word, I received the flow of the Holy Spirit, I’m ready to hear, I’m ready to see, and I will have everything You have for me in this service today, in Jesus Name, amen, amen. You may be seated, hallelujah, hallelujah, praise the Lord.
How good is God that we could have praise and worship like this? Wow, that was so underwhelming. For a second time today. How awesome is God that we could have praise and worship like this? Yeah that’s a bit better. Wow, praise the Lord.
Praise God. I have something to share with you this afternoon, that is really, the only way I can talk about the father’s blessing is to teach you what the Lord has showed me and revelation I have received from other men. I will confess to you that for a long time there was a lot of teaching going around in the church about spiritual fathers. And it didn’t sit well with me when it came out, just because of the way the message came out and the way people responded to it and it just didn’t sit well with me. So I didn’t, I withdrew myself from that form of teaching and I didn’t encourage it in our ministry and in our church and still I am cautious to teach on it and I would rather be someone who teaches on the conservative side, rather than on the liberal side of it, I suppose.
But in order for us to understand the first blessing that Jacob got, which is the Father’s blessing and the foundation of all of our blessing that we receive from the Heavenly Father. I have to teach on this and because I ended off the last session by saying you know who does blessing come from? Well blessing, the power to bless, comes from the Lord, because the power to bless someone is to empower them to prosper and so you know God is the One who empowers us to prosper. But if we are sons on the earth of the Most High God then we are able to speak the same kind of prosperity and bless ourselves, as God can. And so I ended off by saying you know we must encourage each other to speak words of blessing continuously over each other.
But there is a blessing that comes when you’re under the anointing and when you’re under the mantle of God’s governing authority and He releases words through you which are the blessing of the Father. And so this revelation was so powerful to me that as you know Pastor Sharon and I, I think it was 2013 we made an appointment with Brother Jerry and we had him pray over us and pray a blessing of the Father over us and Brother Copeland prayed a blessing of the Father of her us, together with Brother Jerry, which stand still as a marker in my life you know that they laid hands on us and prayed a blessing over us and spoke into our lives, because this revelation is so real to me that without the blessing of the Father there is no power to prosper. And the Father has blessed us. The Father God has blessed us.
So we have three blessings, we have the blessing of the Father which is the Covenant blessing through Abraham Isaac and Jacob. It is also the Covenant blessing through Jesus, but for the sake of understanding it’s the blessing of the Father through Abraham Isaac and Jacob and the second blessing is the blessing of Jesus or the Living Word, the blessing of the Redeemer as Isaac’s future was redeemed through Rebekah so the blessing of the future encounter with God as Jacob had, we had that blessing in Jesus. So Jacob had a blessing that was given to him by the laying on of hands by his natural earthly father. But the words that he spoke were presided over by the Heavenly Father so that when Isaac spoke these words over Jacob then those words became the words of the Heavenly Father over Jacob. So he was under the governing authority mantle of the Heavenly Father as the natural man speaking words of blessing empowering Jacob to prosper. Then the next blessing was the blessing where Jacob had an encounter with God himself and there was a ladder going to heaven and he encountered God himself and that was the blessing of the future that God Himself spoke over Jacob.
So this is an important sequence that the blessing of God’s future over you and I could not happen unless there was a blessing of the Father first. So the blessing of the Father released the blessing of Jesus the Redeemer. You with me and so when you have the blessing of your future then you also have be a blessing of identity change so that’s our third blessing, is the blessing of identity change it’s the power of the Holy Spirit and He said to His disciples go to Jerusalem and wait there and you shall receive the promise of the Father which is the Holy Spirit and you shall receive power which is identity change. And so they received a massive identity change when the power of the Holy Spirit came upon them and so He is the Spirit who leads you into all truth and so your truth of your future can only be the future that the Holy Spirit leads you into. If you have a future planned that does not include the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit, then that’s a future that only you plan there is not a plan of God for you and so you take yourself outside of that blessing factor. Hallelujah!
I mean just for interest sake as I was studying through this the Lord began to connect so many dots for me where Abraham was the personal leadership man and Isaac was the public leadership man and Jacob became the purpose leadership man. And so He took me back to my leadership triangle of personal public and purpose leadership through these three and He showed me that by divine inspiration. Hallelujah! Glory to God.
There are three things that Jacob is blessed with. He’s blessed with plenty he’s blessed with power over his brethren and he’s blessed with influence with God or power or influence with God in particular. So the blessing of the fathers if you talk about a father you’re talking about a source of life. That’s how you would term a father: it is the source of life. So if you talk about the blessing of the father, then you have obviously, the source of life has the ability to frame your future, because without a source of life there is no life and when you receive the source of life then the source of life has the ability to frame your future.
I want to say that the source of life will frame your future and in part of all of this conversation that we’ve been having, I told you that it was a very real thing for me when I was, when my kids were growing up that I realized my inadequacies and I realized my limitations as a man and I knew that I was passing on these limitations to my natural sons and I knew my natural sons were growing up with all of my natural limitations being imparted to them, as well as my strengths, but I was aware that what I believed as a man would become, well I would, I was trying my best to make what I believed as a man be their beliefs.
So if you’re a good father then you will choose a course of direction in your life. That course of direction you choose in your life you obviously think is the best, for you, so if you are the source of someone else’s life, then you would want to impart what you have, for them to make that their future. Right?
So I was aware that even though God was in my life, my values, my philosophies, my walk with God was on a strong foundation, had a sure footing. I was not an immoral man, I was not a criminal, I wasn’t an abusive man, I wasn’t a fleshly living carnal man. I didn’t have bad habits that I was bringing home to my sons, you understand, I was a good man, I’m still a good man, I’m a better man than I was then, I’m still a good man. I’m just saying even though I was a good man, I was aware that the good man in me still had limitations and weaknesses that I was passing on to my sons, and I knew that they would grow up with my weaknesses being part of their life and they would have to then fight through those weaknesses in order to become better than I was. So the only thing that I could do in that moment and the only thing I still can only do, is I go to Jesus and I say to my sons, “Walk with me with Jesus, because I know the only One who can show you a better way and help you to be the man thatHewantsyoutobeis bywalkingwithHim.”
And so the way that we can become a better generation, every generation is to teach our sons to walk with Jesus so that our sons walking with Jesus can become more like Jesus than like us. And we should refrain more and more from trying to make our children be like us and have our children more like Jesus. Hallelujah. And even in that is a weakness that I have to trust God with, because how much can I lead them to Jesus? I have to trust the Holy Spirit with that.
Malachi chapter 4 verse 5 and 6 the Bible said, 5Behold I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. 6And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse (Malachi 4:5-6KJV).
So we must just understand that the concept of fathers and sons does not deal with gender, but were those spiritual inheritors of promise, both male and female. So when we talking about father and sons we’re talking about genderless people who are ready to inherit the promise. Amen, hallelujah.
First Corinthians chapter 4 verse 14 the Amplified Bible says, 14I do not write this to shame you but to warn and counsel you as my beloved children. 15After all though you should have ten thousand teachers (guides to direct you) in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers for I became your father in Christ Jesus through the glad tidings the gospel so I urge and implore you, be imitators of me (1 Corinthians 4:16 AMPC).
This is quite something that actually the Apostle Paul says, “There are thousands of teachers but there are not many fathers.” Because the difference between a teacher and a father is what the source is. So people who teach you stuff will get information but people who impart stuff for you, to you, will be fathers. Impartation is very different to instruction, you know. So I can instruct you but to impart something to you takes time, it takes effort, takes a lot of energy, it takes walking together.
17For this very cause I sent to you (the Corinthian church) Timothy, who is my beloved and trustworthy child in the Lord, who will recall to your minds my methods of proceeding and course of conduct and way of life in Christ, such as I teach everywhere in each of the churches (1Corinthians 4:17 AMPC). So he’s saying here, “I am your father because I am your, become your spiritual father, not just because I can teach but because of the source of life that you receive from me. So now I’m sending you, so as children, I’m sending you my beloved son, Timothy, who thinks like me, talks like me, behaves like me, is an imitator of me. I’m sending you to him because he looks like me. So he has followed me so closely that he behaves like me.”
This is a spiritual thing. This is, Timothy was not Paul. Paul was not Timothy’s natural father. This is a spiritual thing. So he says after he says, “So I urge you and employ you to be imitators of me.” So how is it that he is so confident that he says, “Be imitators of me?” Well, he’s saying, “Be imitators of me as I imitate Christ.” But he is also confident that there’s a relationship that you enter into when you’re following someone who is following Christ that you enter into, because you choose to be an imitator of the Christ in someone else. There is a grace, there is an anointing, there is a power that comes on you from God by the Holy Spirit that enables you and empowers you to become something that you wouldn’t have otherwise become because there’s a spiritual connection.
Wow. So you know a lot of people might have said well you know why is it that you’re always talking about Brother Jerry and you’re always talking about Brother Copeland and you’re always talking about Brother Hagin and you’re always talking about all kinds of you know men that God has influenced your life? You know you’re always talking about that stuff. Well sure, I’m imitators of them. I’m imitators of them as spiritual fathers as they imitate God. And so the grace and the blessing that is on them come upon me and I become something greater because I choose to believe that God works through men. And so because I choose those men as my example, I become something greater than they are. Hallelujah.
18Some of you have become conceited and arrogant and pretentious, counting my not coming to you. 19But I will come to you [and] shortly, if the Lord is willing, then I will perceive and understand not what the talk of these puffed up and arrogant spirits amount to, but their force [the moral power and excellence of soul they really possess] (1 Corinthians 4:18-19 AMPC). So he’s talking about a group of people here that have got lots of words to say about what they believe but he’s not coming there to assess their words, he’s coming to assess how powerful they are in Christ. Only a spiritual man who has the anointing of a father on him can do this kind of thing. 20For the kingdom of God consists of and is based on not talk but power [moral power and excellence of soul] (1 Corinthians 4:20 AMPC). In other words, this is not just about talk, this is about my behaviour pattern. This is about how I’m living with God. Amen.
I just want to make this point, this is not a reflection and this does not reveal, how many motor cars I can believe God for, how many houses I can believe God for, how many millions I can believe God for. This is not talking about that kind of power. This is talking about a living excellence before Christ. I have told you this before, I come from a background of faith teaching for 30 years now, more than 30 years, where people measured the level of someone’s faith by the amount of goods they could acquire. Don’t measure my faith by my goods. Hello. I don’t care if you are believing God for many goods and you receive it by your faith, that’s okay, but don’t say I don’t have faith if I don’t have the same amount of goods as you. Especially here where we live in Africa, you can’t tell me that someone who’s believing God for furniture in their little home in some kind of location and God provides them with furniture than is top-quality furniture for them, there’s any more or less faith in somebody that’s believing God for a fifty million-dollar jet. Can’t say that, it’s not our business to measure faith. It is however according to the Apostle Paul a spiritual authority’s business when there’s people going around doing lots of talking and they’re causing all kinds of stuff going on in the church and he says, “I want to see where your moral excellence comes from. I want to see what’s in here (pointing to the heart) not what’s in here (pointing to the mouth). Everybody can do this (pointing to the mouth), not everybody’s living here (pointing to the heart).” Come on now. Hallelujah.
So then in Genesis this is the blessing of the Father, verse 28. Genesis 27 verse 28, 28Therefore may God give you of the dew of heaven, of the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and wine. 29Let people serve you, and nations bow down to you. Be masters over your brethren, and let your mother’s son’s bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you, and blessed be those who bless you! (Genesis 27:28-29 NKJV). Praise the Lord. Glory to God.
I’m not going to read it but Luke chapter 1 verses 16 and 17 talks about the Spirit of God and He Himself go before Him in the spirit of power of Elijah to turn back the hearts of the father’s to the children and the children to the father’s, which is quoting Isaiah, praise the Lord. John 14 verse 19, “19A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20At that day you will know that I am in My Father and you in Me, and I in you. 21He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.” (John 14:19-21 NKJV).
I wanting you to understand that for us we have the same Father’s blessing that Jacob had because we live in the Father through Jesus and so when the Father blessed Jacob He was blessing us eternally. Eternally He was blessing us that we would have all the prosperity both on the earth, in the spirit realm and through men on the earth, we would have blessing.
(Pastor John reading from a book). So, Elijah was not the active agent upon Elisha’s life, it was the voice of God that did the calling, Elijah was simply the manifestation of spiritual headship that Elisha submitted to and served as a son. The spiritual relationship between father and son in ministry is the work and choice of God, there are spiritual fathers yearning to hear from God and looking for where they can cast their mantle. Sons wanting to acquire fathers, but this relationship is not based on the work of man. My spiritual father is not one (I’m reading from someone’s book) my spiritual father is not one who won me or taught me he is not who organized me or gives me the greatest political platform, my father is not the one who gives me the sweetest fellowship or the person whom I like to be with the most. Literally my father is someone who speaks the Word that puts me into a position in maturation to fulfil my fullest spiritual potential in God.
This is what differentiates a teacher from a father. So my first spiritual father is not who won me or taught me, he is not who organized me or who gives me the greatest political platform. My father is not the one who gives me the sweetest fellowship or the person who I like to be with the most. Literally my father is someone who speaks the Word that puts me into a position in maturation or for maturity to fulfil my fullest spiritual potential in God. Hallelujah. And so he references the Bible here, so I may have had ten thousand instructors in Christ who brought me to a point but suddenly there must be a voice an impartation that plunges me into purpose that is how I will know who my father really is. It will be the deep calling unto deep in our lives, the connection of fathers and sons in the ministry begins in the voice of the father; this voice of the preceding Word is an impartation of the spirit. Hallelujah.
In John chapter 12 verses 26 it says, 26If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honour (John 12:26). In other words if you want to see Me you must go through My process, this stands for natural father’s, I can say natural men that have become spiritual fathers, you must go through My process. I will stamp this image on you just like it is on me. That’s what Paul was saying, was he not? Come on now, I know it’s after lunch time. Where I am, there will you be, honoured by the Father. Whenever we join in spiritual relationship there is both benefit and baggage interspersed between the parties of covenantal bonds. Are you all hearing me? Whatever process or problems that either person may bring into the relationship must be entered and endured by both. Fathers and sons in the ministry are joined and connected together in an ebb and flow of both life and death, this is a bone to his bone connection if there is health or sickness in either it is shared by both. When an injury occurs in one bone all the bones connected to it feel the same pain. A refusal to stay joined in a god-ordained relationship will amputate you from kingdom purpose. God has established the order of father and son, He ordained fathers to be an earthly confirmation and witnessed to the heavenly voice of Father God. Elisha will never be more than a plough boy Elijah sets his mantle upon him. Saul will forever search for his father’s donkeys until Samuel anoints him and he’s changed into another man. David will tend sheep and sing songs his entire life until Samuel covers his head in oil, making it ready to wear a crown.
That’s why there are many men and many women and many people around the planet Earth that are wanting to step into ministry. They are wanting to step into their purpose. They’re wanting to step into the things of God and they have no father identification. They do not have anybody in their life. They want to run after this teacher and that teacher and all kinds of teachers all over the place, all over the planet everywhere, “I want to hear the next one on TBN, on Daystar, on whatever kind of television program. I’ll read many books. I’ll instruct myself in many things, but I do not want to be and I will not have a part of being a son to a father because it requires bone-to-bone experience.” It requires whatever is going on in my father’s life has got to go on in my life and whatever’s going on in your life has got to be a part of my life and this ebb and flow of life that goes between the parties, the spiritual relationship that God has preordained so that we can have the mantle of purpose upon us. And people are saying, “I make my own purpose!” No you cannot make your own purpose. It is not the order of God. Everybody has got to have a source of life. There is no source of life without a father.
Well, Esau, remember Esau, the man who came and he said, “I don’t need the blessing of my father, Abraham, my grandfather Abraham, I don’t need the blessing of my father because I am powerful and I am the firstborn, so I have no regard for my rights that I have by birth.” So Esau comes to Jacob, ag to Isaac for his blessing. Where… Did I say Esau came to Isaac for his blessing? But Jacob had already been there! And Jacob’s already got the blessing. 36 And Esau said, “Is he not rightly named Jacob? For he has supplanted me these two times. He took away my birth right,” Did he? No he didn’t. He gave away his birth right! And that is the one thing you can see with people that have walked away from birth right is they never say I gave it away, they always say someone else took it away from me. Always. “36And now look, he has taken away my blessing!” And he said, “Have you not reserved a blessing for me?” 37Then Isaac answered and said to Esau, “Indeed I have made him your master, and all his brethren I have given to him as servants; with grain and wine I have sustained him. What shall I do now for you, my son?” Now here is something very important; the only reason Esau gets any blessing is because the father permits it. There is a grace that comes on the father to recognize the wrongs that Esau has done and so he finds a blessing of grace even in this position of poor choices.
38 And Esau said to his father, “Have you only one blessing, my father? Bless me—me also, O my father!” (Genesis 27:36-38 NKJV) You see now, now he’s talking son to father. He’s appealing to the father. But where was his recognition of the father when the rights of the birth were at stake? Now there’s a blessing that’s at stake. Now he suddenly recognizes the father and he recognizes the power of the father. I’ll tell you something, church, this is so common in the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ that people don’t even have a clue half the time why they are having so many problems in their life is because they don’t have an understanding of this deep spiritual principle of spiritual fathers and sons.
Indeed, I have to say it is partly the fathers that are to blame because the fathers have taken too much on themselves of reward, too much on themselves as people that have set themselves up as almighty in their status, giving themselves a platform, giving themselves in a place of special power and lording over people. And so when a father takes that position then sons become rebellious because they need room to express themselves. And it’s only a true father that understands that the releasing of sons for expressing themselves is the power in the father’s hands. And if you know who you are as a father you release the sons for self-expression. Then they become what they are, then they give the honour back to the father. Isn’t that what happened with Jesus? The Father said, “I trust You to represent Me,” and the Son said, “Thank You, Father. I give it all back to You. Tell Me what I must do.” And then He said, “I don’t speak without My Father speaking first, I go nowhere without My Father leading Me. I have nothing to do on this earth without My Father showing Me first. I know He’s given Me free expression to do what I want and My Father has released Me as the Eternal Source into all eternal things, but I choose to do only what He does and say only what He says.” What a role model.
38And Esau lifted up his voice and wept. 39 Then Isaac his father answered and said to him: “Behold, your dwelling shall be of the fatness of the earth, And of the dew of heaven from above. 40 By your sword you shall live,” This is a statement of fact. This is not a statement of blessing. He was already living by his sword. This is a statement of fact. “And you shall serve your brother;” this is also already a statement of fact because of the previous blessing. But he is doing the best that he can with the grace that is upon him as a father. “Behold… 40 by your sword you shall live, and you shall serve your brother; and it shall come to pass, when you become restless,” again, this is just speaking to the nature of Esau, “when you become restless that you shall break his yoke from your neck” (Genesis 27:38-40 NKJV). There is nothing here that is really anything other than natural, uh, the natural blessing that would come upon Esau because he was Abraham’s son. Dew of heaven, fatness of the earth; as a seed of Abraham it was coming to him. The rest is a statement of fact; you will live by your sword, you will become restless and you will break the yoke on your, of your brother on your neck when you become restless.
Huh, so there is at least a blessing in the sense of there is a recognition that there is blessing on your life. But the real blessing was in Jacob. So if you want to tell the difference, the one is you’ll have all the things that a man of clay would want. Jacob will have all the things that the spirit man and the clay man is destined to have. Hey come on, what we have to do is to make sure that we get the blessing of the Father as spirituals not just as naturals. And we may be tempted if we live in, with the message of faith and believe God for our world to be reframed by the words of our mouths, we may be tempted to recognize the blessing of God in our temporal, our temporal goods that increase. But I must remind you that the blessing of God is not just about all the things that serves the clay man, it is all about the eternal purpose and assignment of God where you get to heaven and you have in your heavenly account stored up for yourself treasures. Hundredfold return in heaven what you have done on the earth. That is what the real blessing of the eternal man that can live by faith on the earth whatever you get on the earth to serve the clay man is good but whatever is done by faith to the eternal man that’s what counts. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord.
I need to read some things to you here out of this book. I went to a conference one day and I found myself by invitation at this conference, and it was not from a conference from our faith camp, but I was there by invitation and before the plenary sessions were to begin, I used that word on purpose, because it was a teaching kind of conference. So before the plenary sessions were to begin I was walking around in the foyer of that particular conference. And there was a book wholesaler like Cum Books in South Africa, you know there was a wholesaler who had a whole big stand there and they were selling just multiple people’s book you know. And I saw this book there and the Holy Spirit drew me to this book. Because I didn’t really, wasn’t really interested in much else that was going on there. And this book is called “You have not many fathers.”
And I read this to you. Elijah and Elisha was not naturally father and son, their relationship was based on the spiritual connection of father and son. The voice of God to the man of God. And so you can find that in 1 Kings 19 verse 13 through to 19. I’m just going to read you portions of it. 19So he departed and fined Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was ploughing with twelve yoke of oxen, before him and with the twelve. And Elijah passed by him and cast his mantle upon him. Elisha passed by him and cast his mantle on him. (1Kings 19:19) So he didn’t even speak to him. He didn’t actually call him, he didn’t say, “I’ve come to prophesy over your life about your future. If you will follow me and if you will be like me and if you will allow the Spirit of God to come and be imparted to you then you will receive the prophet’s anointing.” He didn’t do any of that he just took of his coat, he threw it on him and walks away. But Elisha was after the stuff of eternity and Elisha was after the stuff of purpose. So when the mantle came upon him he knew exactly what it meant immediately and he did what he needed to do.
Elisha was not anointed with oil just like the sons of Aaron. The garment of his ministry father was placed on his shoulders. It’s just important to notice if you see these words “his ministry father”. Not someone else’s ministries father. That’s why I don’t go to other ministries and other men of other ministries for anything that I’m looking for impartation. God has given me one man and his father and his father. Same lineage, same mantle, same coat. It was the mantle of a prophet that turned Elisha into a prophet like unto his father. This was the spiritual connection that would change his life forever. He left his natural parents and he is following the oxen to follow in the steps of a spiritual father. Elijah who also became more than just a prophet or a teacher. He was the father to Elisha in ministry. Elisha served Elijah in the faithfulness of a son and when his service of son ship was complete Elijah asked Elisha, “Ask what shall what I shall do for you before I be taken away from thee.” And Elisha said, “I pray thee let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.” You notice he didn’t say, “Let a double portion of all your material possessions; let a double portion of all of your prophetic mantle, all of your power, all of the stuff that you have.” He didn’t ask for all of that, He knew his father in spirit, and he wanted a double portion of the Spirit of the father.
In order to receive the double portion, the father must ask the son, what would you have me do for you? If a son asks, Father give me my inheritance without the prior questioning of the father, he is a prodigal who cares nothing for the father he only wants to spend his inheritance on himself. Elisha received the double portion of Elijah’s spirit when his father in the ministry was whisked away in a fiery chariot. And Elijah saw it and he cried, “My father, my father.” The chariot of Israel and the horsemen thereof, and he saw him no more, and he took all of his own clothes and rent them into pieces. Why? Because he would see his father no more. This was not about what his father could give him, this was about him with his being with his father. Shedding his own garments, Elisha received the inheritance of his father. Elisha then did the works of his father, and rolled back the waters of Jordan by smiting them with the cloak of the double portion, containment. This mantle was now his birth right. Hallelujah, hallelujah.
I want to tell you, that you and I have a mantle that has been imparted to us. It is the mantle of the Holy Spirit. It is the mantle of God that He said, “If you receive My Son Jesus, and you receive Him as a Saviour and Redeemer in your life, you can receive a double portion of His Spirit. If you will receive Him as Saviour and Redeemer, the double portion of His Spirit will be the Holy Spirit that will come upon you, and the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit will all come and make residence inside of you, and you will have the mantle of God upon your shoulders. Hallelujah.
Notwithstanding that God has given us a spiritual order that requires men to stand in this order. There are many things I’m reading to you here, that I didn’t know about. I wasn’t taught about this, this was not, this has never been in my flow of teaching, if I can put it that way, it was not in the Assemblies of God, it was not at Rhema, it wasn’t in any of the teachings that was going on, but there was something inside of me that had a revelation about the body of Christ and Jesus as the head of the church and I am in the body, and He is the head of the church. And if I want the blessing that comes from the head of the church, I must stay connected to the body that God has connected me to. I cannot run around and just go to any body parts that I like, because otherwise I’m always effecting amputation.
And so, when everybody else was leaving the church that my pastor was running to the best of his ability under the gifting and the anointing and the blessing of God that God had called him to this nation. And thousands of people were leaving him because of personal issues in his life. The Lord said to me, “You stay, you stay John. You stay, you do not divide this church I do not want your future having a mark on it that says you divided the church by leaving the church when your pastor was in trouble.”
And I refused to divide my church even though all of my friends had left it. Such as they were; they are mostly no more. Just because I chose something that made me walk with God and has elevated my walk with God year by year, day by day, year by year. Most of them don’t walk with God even anymore, and if they are walking with God they’re doing their own thing with their own purpose, you know, hallelujah, praise Jesus.
And so there was just something inside of me, and then when God connected me to Brother Jerry, I went to the man who was the source of life in my world, and I said to him, “Do you witness with it?” Because I need you to transfer the mantel of fatherhood from your shoulders onto his shoulders otherwise I won’t leave. Because I will not have a relationship where there is no father in my life. The language I’m talking to you I did not know then, but it was in my spirit to follow that.
And he said, “This is God, this is God.” And so then I asked him to make his blessing and his releasing my life public. And he did it publicly. And so the result of it is, that when my new father with a mantle, that has been placed on him by my old father, when he comes to South Africa and the two fathers get together, and this son is sitting in the middle of them, I received a blessing from both my fathers who both love me and who both honour me, and they both respect me, and they both say that you are blessed John. There is no competition between them, there is no confrontation between them, there is no conflict between them, there is peace between them and I stand between them as the son that brings two fathers together. You will turn the heart of the fathers to the sons, and the sons to the fathers.
I’ll tell you something church, if the church had a better revelation of this, we would be a powerful, we would be the powerful force on the earth, we are supposed to be the most powerful force in the universe is the church, not politicians, the church is. But we are weak, and we have no voice really to speak of, and we have no real change, other than those people that have submitted to authority and that can pray. And God will use submitted prayers to the fullest extent, because the real power lies in submission and prayer. We can change nations, we can. He has given us the nations, because of those kinds of people, you can ask Him for the nations, hallelujah.
In Psalm 133 we have three verses that form the key to understanding the proper flow of anointing in the body of Christ. They give us a picture of the direction alignment and increase of power in the inheritance of anointing, and it reads like this, 1Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for the brethren to dwell together in unity! 2It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard, that went down to the skirts of his garment as the dew of Herman and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion for there the Lord commanded his blessing even life forever more (Psalm 133:1-2). The power of the anointing is based upon the direction of its flow. The direction of the anointing is always down. It flows upon the head and then down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard and still down to the skirts of his garments, to the hem of the garments of the priest. The direction of the anointing is always down. This is the only way the whole body is covered. Referring to the previous chapter, you remember that the sons of Aaron were not themselves anointed for their ministry. Aaron alone had the oil poured upon his head. The anointing was passed from father to son by the oil captured in the garments of the High Priest and by the sons receiving their garments from their father.
I wonder if you’re getting this, that they themselves were not anointed, they received anointed garments that had been saturated with the oil. Jesus was anointed, and we receive his anointed garment of salvation.
So the anointing was passed from father to son by the oil captured in the garments of the High Priest and by the sons receiving the garments from their father. The anointing could only come upon the sons in their relationship with the head of the family. Aaron the first born or elder brother of Aaron’s sons would receive the garments as an inheritance. This same order was fulfilled in the ministry of Jesus the Apostle and High Priest of our profession and the church. That is in Hebrews 3 verse 1. The head of the church is Christ. The term Christ means anointed. He is the head of the body and he is the head of the church, the church for it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell as in Colossians 1:18. Aaron was anointed upon his head. The church is anointed only on the head, which is Christ the anointed one. Aaron did not receive oil anywhere else but on his head. In Psalm 133 the oil was not placed on his arm or heart or legs first, it was not poured anywhere but on the head. The anointing flows from the head down, and covers him all the way to the hem of his garments. Jesus promised His disciples that the power of the Holy Spirit would be placed upon them, when He sent them the promise of the Father. “And behold I send the promise of My Father upon you, but tarry you in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” The word translated “endued” is from the Greek word “Endau”, which means to place upon in the sense of sinking into a garment or to invest with clothing from the head of the church who is the Christ comes the anointing from the church of the garment of the Spirit, provided by the Father, the church receives the power of being clothed with the Spirit of the Father. Hallelujah.
So when the Apostle Paul writes and he says, “You have many teachers, but you have not many fathers.” He is saying there are many people that run around and have got a lot of things to say about a lot of things and they have many opinions, he says, “But you need to be connected to where the anointing comes from and the flow of the anointing that comes through the fathers of your generations and your legacy.”
Do you have that on your phone Sharon? Please, look for it. I know Sarah sent it to you. The words I wrote on Facebook about my father. It was two days after the anniversary of my father’s death, and I’ve never made any public statement or made any public comments about my father’s death in writing or to newspapers. I only had made them in church, you know, but I felt led off the Lord to write something for the first time, huh, about my dad, and I would like to read it to you.
To Dad and those who remain behind…
To spirits of manmade perfect….Hebrews. This is from the book of Hebrews 22 verse 23.
I seldom comment publicly, but feel compelled to write about the eternal man who lived among us and still lives with us.
My life assignment, dedication to my calling, (dad @my birth said “this is my preacher”) and daily commitment to Jesus; is my honour and living memorial to the vessel God placed on earth. The legacy he was born to, and the eternal man I still call DAD!… I NEVER FORGET!
Enjoy your time with our Heavenly Father…witness what we do, with all the others that went before! Celebrate our faith!
In time we will join together to witness my sons (grandchildren and great grandchildren) who do mighty exploits in the Name of Jesus, and not just these, but countless others.
At this stage of human time measure, your timeless impartation ensures the legacy of great spirits like Smith Wigglesworth, John G. Lake, Oral Roberts, William Burke and many others WHO WERE USED to transfer, gifts, callings and anointings and revelations to and through your vessel.
I stand ready to take my part in these great gifts, callings and anointings in me through me and mine.
This is a legacy I pursue and protect!
I may never comment publicly again… may these words reverberate into eternity and may these words humbly sound like Jesus, at the death of John the Baptist.
I believe those were inspired by the Holy Ghost, because that speaks of legacy that God has. Hallelujah, praise Jesus. Are you getting something out of this this afternoon? I’m nearly finished, I mean it I really am.
The anointing is strong here, you feel the anointing of God on this teaching this afternoon? Do you feel the power of the Holy Ghost, just using these words to mould us, and to change us, and just adapt us and form us to become something greater than we could imagine? Hallelujah. I mean the anointing is so strong in here that I believe that there are right now, there are happening impartations of the Holy Spirit, that you are receiving the impartation of legacy. That legacy that I wrote about, when I wrote about my father, there are too many men that have come for many years and have laid hands on my natural dad. Pastor Sharon asked me a question this week, she asked me a question and she said, “So John…” Well I’m not going to share that. No, the Holy Spirit is cautioning me not to share that, so I will go no further. Excuse me for leading you into something that I wasn’t going to do, hallelujah.
Timothy was told to stir up the gift of God that was in him, by the laying on of hands of his father in the ministry. How we receive gifting for ministry is to be properly clothed and properly positioned, beneath the ministry of a spiritual father. Not only do we also receive a spiritual gift in this manner, but we also receive the anointing on a constant basis, if we stay in our position. Don’t you want that constant anointing? The anointing does not flow up, so lifting ourselves up is not the way to receive the fullness of God’s power. The anointing flows down, so we must go with a flow to receive. The Apostle Peter said this, “Likewise ye younger submit yourselves unto the elder, yea all of you be subject to one another and be clothed with humility for God resists the proud and gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God that He may exalt you in due time.” (1 Peter 5:5-6).
Can I tell you something church? It’s our due time, it’s our due time. I know it’s my due time. Why, can you tell me why? Based on what I’m teaching today; can you tell me why? Because for all of these decades, I have given honour to my fathers, not only have I given honour, but I have given irrational honour and that hasn’t stopped yet. I am striking the ground now with irrational honour. Do not find it surprising Church, I mean this. Do not find it surprising, when things begin to happen to me. It of course will affect you and that’s why I’m telling you, not to be surprised when things begin to happen to me, that are so astounding, so as to be unbelievable in the natural that something like that could happen. God has given me insight into some of those things, some things which I may not speak of. But even this last week, He showed me some things in the Spirit. I’m just going to give you the process. I’m not going to tell you what it is.
A few years ago some people started to speak things out in the Spirit, about me. God began to give them insight about and prophesy over me, just people. Then I would get to hear about these prophecies, and I would think about a prophecy, and I would think about it, and I would say, “That’s not possible, it’s not possible. Not possible.” So, because I respect the people and love the people I would just leave the prophecy. I’ve got stuff to do for God, I’m just going to leave the prophecy, you know. This week, one morning this week, I woke up praying. I was praying and as I began to pray early in the morning, the Holy Spirit came upon me and He began to speak to me and He asked me, He began to ask me questions, the Father asked me questions, He said, “So, if I bless you like this John, how are you going to deal with that?” And I said, “Well if You bless me with that, I will receive it Father.” He said, “I need you to say that.”
So when He spoke, it was the furthest thing, let me tell you something, it’s the furthest thing ever in my mind, you know. It would be like Melusi do you know that God’s going to actually transport you to Brazil? Do you know what I’m saying? It’s like, that’s so far away from Melusi’s thinking. It’s not, how’s He going to transport me to Brazil and why Brazil? What’s in Brazil? I don’t want to go to Brazil. Do you know what I’m saying? I’m trying to give you an idea of how far out this thing is to me. But for years, various people, for years now, actually up to about ten years. Ten years, people have been prophesying this same thing, exact same thing over my life. It’s like Melusi going to Brazil, you know. I’m saying China maybe, but not Brazil. You know, because he’s just been to China, but you know. I mean he’s not thinking about Brazil, it’s not on his map, it’s not on his radar. He has no reason to go there you know, it’s just there’s nothing in Brazil for him.
That’s the way it was, there’s nothing there for me. Why are people prophesying this over me? You understand what I’m saying? When I woke up this week, the Holy Spirit said to me, “What if I do this in your life? Will you receive it?” I said, “Well Lord if You do this in my life, then I will receive it and I will obey You and I will receive it.” And suddenly I went to Sharon I said, “Sharon.” They never came and talked to me, they always talked to Pastor Sharon about it, because actually it was so way out, they didn’t want to talk to me and they seek and spoke privately, nothing publicly ever. They would come, and they would say, “We were praying and God showed us something. We want to share with you, God showed us in the spirit.” And some people have prayed in intercession and groaned with intercession, intercessions beyond what they could ask or speak in natural languages, about this thing.
I came to Sharon this week and I said to her, “Babe, this is what God said to me this morning.” I said, “Tell me about all the witnesses and all the people that have prayed for all these years, I need you to start telling me, because you are the scribe, you are the one who remembers, start telling, pull out all that stuff, I need to see what God said, to all those people for ten years, about what is, cause this morning, God asked me this question.”
As far as Brazil was from my mind. Why do you think God would actually begin to talk to me like that? Because I’m working on my field, with my oxen and a prophet of God has just walked into my life, and he took a mantle and he threw it on my shoulders. Now, all I can do is, everything changes; and that means it changes for you too. It changes for you too.
You want to know where our music ministry’s going? The world is going to speak about our music ministry. I told you this before, twenty years ago, I employed five or six musicians, full time, because I recognized the anointing of God on this psalmist and on me and on this ministry that the anointing of the psalmist would go and change things and there would be a voice that would come through music in this ministry, twenty years. It wasn’t twenty years ago, fourteen years ago, they told me last night. Fourteen years ago. I rented a house, I employed them full time and I said, “Write music.” So, they got into this whole thing of, you are not our father. We don’t submit to you and we don’t this and we don’t that. So, most of, a lot of them left, but some of them are still with me. Praise God.
Praise God and so those that are with me, hey Garth, I’m glad you are still with me son. Cause as my son, I would have broken your knee cap, if you tried to leave me. I have, I have other sons, two other sons, Martin and Miles that are still with me and you know, their circumstances have changed, but their calling hasn’t, and their purpose hasn’t, and they are still with me. You watch, what I say with these words, how God is going to use this music ministry, that He is changing right now, to change the world.
You might say to me, “Pastor John look, this is a small beginning, this is such a small.” Listen to me, when Elijah walked onto the field, there was only Elisha, and he was standing with his oxen and he was ploughing a field. There was no one else to witness what happened, but everything changed in one moment, and so, it’s everything I have to do to stop now, because I want to talk to you, and I know Pastor Sharon has been sharing with you about, my spiritual father that came with a mantle. I call it a bag of seeds, but he came this year, in February with a mantle. And he came to our church with the mantle and he took his mantle off and he says, after seven days God told me, “I’m finished and my mantle is upon you, for revival.”
Ja, heh, heh, heh, feel this anointing, this anointing is here because God has anointed us, because this is the power of the Holy Spirit. This is the power of the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Praise Jesus. Praise Jesus.
It’s a, God has given me, sons. I have not presented myself as father. I have not presented myself, and asked anybody here, or anywhere else to call me a father. Not once, not ever, have I put myself in a position, where I have asked you or anybody to call me a spiritual father, because I would not assume, to want to make myself, your spiritual father, but if you have it in your heart and God has placed me there for you, then I have received that mantle of a spiritual father. Hallelujah.
My son, Ragan here, made me a spiritual father to him. Ragan come stand here by me. Hallelujah. I’ll tell you, that even now, God is doing things in the spirit because of his heart, in this ministry, in Heritage of Faith and even, we can’t see what he is doing, into the realm of the legacy that is Brother Jerry and Brother Copeland and I speak by the Holy Spirit, we don’t even know what impact his behaviour is doing in the spirit realm, but it’s got everything to do with the mantle. For years I’ve called his family, Ragan Bendixen Padayachi. Hallelujah. They are the Padayachi Bendixens. Hallelujah.
This thing of the blessing of the fathers, is not a light matter and when we talk about Jacob’s constellation and Jacob’s blessing of the fathers. Let me tell you something this wasn’t just something that Esau was upset about because, “He gave me a bowl of porridge and he stole my birth right and haven’t you got a blessing for me, Dad?” It’s not that, this is about the eternal Heavenly Father that’s listening to the words in a man’s mouth and as he speaks these words out under the anointing and their mantle of Almighty God the whole of eternity takes note of those words and all the angels that are in heaven and earth and are at the service of mankind are activated to make it come to pass.
And when our spiritual father Jerry Savelle arrived here to come with a revival and he dropped his mantle upon us let me tell you something church, all the angels of heaven, all of the angels on the earth, all of the angels that are serving man have been released to make it come to pass for us. Fathers blessing, and so is it any wonder that Jacob would leave his father’s house with this blessing and on the road to go to Laban the neutral man, the indifferent man who would try and keep him there for his own blessing and for his own value and for his own benefit for all those years that in between the father’s blessing and the blessing where he would get ultimately his future in between there he would have an encounter with God which would be the blessing of his future. Hallelujah.
Because once you have the blessing of the Father, you have the blessing of your future. God must make it come to pass, He the Father sent Jesus to secure our future and then He sent the Holy Spirit to give us identity change. And Jacob’s constellation becomes ours. Hallelujah. Praise Jesus.
And don’t let anybody under estimate and minimize the value of this son (Pastor Christi) regardless of gender, this son. Hallelujah. Praise Jesus. Praise Jesus. Pretty good preach on a Saturday afternoon hey. Sommer ek begin huil ook. Hallelujah.
You know when I started to realize six weeks ago and I realized where we were going to get you with this message. When I realized that six weeks ago that’s why I said to you, I had to take my time with Jacob’s constellation, because I had to talk to you about the clay man and the spiritual man and I had to talk to you about the words that the spiritual man can affect in the clay earth and I had to speak to you about all of this. So that when we got to this point when we talked about the father’s blessing that the power of words that are backed up by heavenly authority are the things that matter. Hallelujah.
I knew, I knew that we would get to our holy moment and we have got there and tomorrow we continue with the blessing of the future and the blessing of identity change. I wish I could preach to you all afternoon because this anointing is so awesome, isn’t it? It’s so awesome, it’s so powerful, it is so amazing there is nothing on this earth it is as beautiful as this anointing when the presence of the Holy Spirit comes and shows up. Praise You Jesus.
You and your whole team (Worship Group).
I don’t know what to sing here, but I’m going to leave it up to you Sharon and the team to sing. I want you to stand please, and I want to just say and I, I pray that these words that have been spoken will find soil already prepared. We will, we’ll find you ready for the rain of heaven to come upon the soil of your heart and to bring you into a place where you look and behave and talk like Jesus and that the blessing and the mantle and the gifts and the callings of God that there are for purpose and assignment in your life they become obvious and clear and they rest upon you. Hallelujah. Glory to God. And may your night even tonight be filled with peace and may it be filled with all the rest fullness of Christ and may you wake up in the morning refreshed with a new sense of the Holy Spirit upon you and I pray you will be ready to receive the rest in the finale of Jacob’s constellation. Hallelujah.
Aren’t you glad I took my time, huh? Praise the Lord. Amen. And you can release them when you are done worshiping, my love, Pastor Sharon.
