Every day is an opportunity to grow, to change and to walk in the Light. We have to understand what it takes to walk in the light.
“The earth was without form and void, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.”
(Genesis 1:2-3 NKJV)
If you are light, and God said, Let there be Light, what He was saying is, Myself is coming to earth. Myself is coming, My Light, My pre-existing eternal self, is now going to come upon the earth. In Genesis 1:2 the earth was dark and void because that pre-existing Light of God wasn’t there. When there is no light, there is an absence. Nothing lives without light, nothing exists without the energy light.
There is only one source of all things and that is God. Satan, when he wanted to have his will the same as God’s will, was separated from the life and the light of God. In that separation, there was no Light. You could say that it was dark, it was void and without any form. There was no place for the Light and the Life of God and there was nothing that he could do to make himself the source.
God had to make a separation between the things that happened in darkness, where His light wasn’t and the things that happened in the Light, where He was present. Where Light is, darkness cannot be. Anything that lives in darkness cannot comprehend what happens in the light. You are absent of the ability to understand because you are walking and living without light.
We say: Lord, we want to understand what it takes to walk in the Light.
If you have been living in the shroud of darkness, you don’t have to live there anymore, you now have an option. The option is to walk in the Light.
Everybody in the world is actually desiring to be in a place of purpose, in a place of productivity, in a place of success because the alternative is a nothing, dark place. Just a place of survival. It’s a nothing place.
We say: Thank You Lord that we have an option to walk in the Light! Today I choose to walk in the Light!
“He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him.”
John 1:10 NLT
The world didn’t recognize him because they were living in darkness, they were used to an absence of Light. If you don’t recognize what the Light is, you don’t recognize life and you can’t become a child of God. If you are a child of God, there is a place of recreated, reborn spirit that recognizes God and chooses to live there, in the light. Even in the natural world, you would choose light as your platform that you would want to live in, you would not willingly choose darkness.
It is one of the enemy of God’s strategies to make the light in your life grow dimmer and dimmer until you are not even aware that you had this brilliant light but now are walking in a place where you have settled for the dim by saying “At least it is not dark.” He doesn’t want you to think that you are actually in darkness, he just keeps you in a level of darkness where you can’t see God. He wants you to not fear what walking in darkness really means. The more darkness is in your world the less you fear God.
We say: I recognize Your Light Lord. I will not let the enemy dim the Light in my life and just settle for it!
Darkness is a rebellion against the Light. Whenever anybody is really stubborn in their hearts, that is darkness and it is rebelling against the truth. Right in the beginning, God separated the Light from the darkness. God is saying, “I’m living in you, you now become Light. You need to separate from those who don’t have light and walk in darkness.”
You have to face yourself, your old carnal nature that will pop up from time to time and want you to choose your own will, but that’s choosing darkness and rebellion.
Why would you want to choose darkness when you can choose Light?
When you get born again, God gives you the strength to keep choosing holiness and righteousness.
We say; Thank You Lord for giving me strength to choose holiness and righteousness.
I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one.
John 17:15 NKJV
We must go into the world, but we have to live separately from it. Jesus is asking the Father here to preserve our walk in the Light. To protect us from the darkness. If we are not fully committed to Jesus then there’s a level of darkness that we are walking in. We cannot allow the world’s way of thinking and doing to infect us. We must keep fueling our spirit man with Light and Life constantly so that whenever we are in the darkness of this world, our Light shines brighter. It doesn’t matter how much the world will persecute the Light or try to come against it, this Light cannot be extinguished.
We say: I am fully committed to Jesus and choose on purpose to fuel my spirit constantly. This Light in me cannot be extinguished.
When you choose to walk in the Light there is great wisdom that comes with it. The wisdom is that you live with people, but you don’t let the darkness that they live in affect you. You will find favour and blessings come to you but it doesn’t happen overnight. It takes time for the Light to get strong in you. You just slowly let the Word of God change you.
We say: I’m a son of God. I walk in Light. I don’t walk in darkness. The Word of God is changing me and blessings and favour comes to me.
