Matthew 16:17-18 (AMPC) – That means we win; there is nothing that can stop us.
If something has not been revealed to you, then it is hidden from you. It’s still there, but you can’t see it. The minute it gets revealed, it’s not hidden anymore. There can be many things that are around you, that may be hidden from you. If something gets revealed, it changes your perspective of everything.
The disciples knew who Jesus was as a man, but who God was in Jesus, was hidden from them. “On this rock of Revelation (of Who Jesus is – the Christ, the Son of the Living God) My Church will be built”. It is important that all of us get a revelation of who Jesus is.
It was Christ – the Son of the Living God – that was going to become the Church.
Jesus was born as a human being, with a perfect spirit, but not fully mature. At twelve years old Jesus was learning about His Father’s business because He was growing in spirit strength. It was up to Him to choose to grow His spirit. He was always choosing the right thing. It was still His choice to make though.
When the moment came where Jesus was to step into His ministry that God had ordained for Him to walk in (as the Lamb of God, the Saviour, the Messiah) the enemy recognized his moment of temptation, to tempt Jesus with everything that He’s called to do (to tempt Him in His humanity in order to try and undermine His divinity). Jesus resisted it because it was revealed to His humanity who His Father was divinely (day by day, week by week, month by month).
All of what’s available to you can be around you, but not visible to you, unless it’s revealed to you. The disciples wouldn’t have caught any fish unless it was revealed to them by Jesus. Jesus said, “Go fishing.” Peter said, “This is not revealed to me yet, but Your words are enough for me to do something about it.” He didn’t see the end result yet, but at Jesus’ words, he went fishing – with a direct instruction – and cast his nets on the other side.
The mandate that was given by the word of Jesus; that came from Heaven to the fish. They kept filling up the nets because their everything had been told by God to go there (their natural instinct was changed to an unnatural God instinct to go there).
John 15:1-7 (AMPC)
God wants us to become a fruit-bearing branch.
If He’s got any pruning to do, it’s not so that He can hurt you, but so you can become a better fruit-bearing branch. (Then it’s not a time to get offended; it’s a time to be thankful.)
Neither can you bear fruit, unless you abide in Me.
The abiding is the important component to the bearing. You can’t be bearing unless you are abiding. This is a spiritual exercise where you choose to abide in Him. When you abide in Him you bear fruit. His Word continues to discipline you, continuously helping you to become a more fruitful person.
When you abide you are going to want whatever He wants (because the fruit that you are bearing is because of your abiding). Now you are going to ask whatever He wants you to ask so that you can have whatever He wants you to have because you are already abiding and bearing.
Peter only had two things in his business; his boat and his nets. Jesus was sitting on half of Peter’s business – being fruitful; speaking the words of the Father; showing Peter what He can do with his business even if he gives Him half.
Fruitfulness and abundance came from Jesus’ Spirit, not from the circumstances.
The revelation in Jesus got revealed to them – challenging them to act on it – and seeing what will happen.
There are revelations that God wants to give you, that can change everything about your life – you got to obey what He tells you to do.
People want the bearing stuff, but they don’t want to do the abiding stuff.
John 15:5 (MSG) I am the Vine; you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing
This is not just talking about a one-dimensional wealth status. This is talking about a spiritual dimensional wealth status because we are abiding with Him. That means there are no other substances causing this growth; it’s just you and God, intimate and organic (there is no artificial fertilizer here).
When this relationship is happening intimate with the Word of God; the harvest is sure to be abundant. We have nothing to lose to obey God. If He asks you to give, then He is honour-bound through intimacy, organically to bring you back the abundance of that same harvest (that same seed that you’ve sown). Not only that, but He is storing your real riches up for you eternally while you’re busy on earth. Where’s the downside?
A year of abundant harvest.
Marvels, wonders and extraordinary manifestations of the greatness of our God.
How is it going to happen?
In an intimate, organic relationship with the Word, with the Father.
I suggest you change your intimacy and I suggest you change what you’re doing.
Start the abiding, so you can bear much fruit and you can be part of that which comes as an abundant harvest this year.
Ps Sharon: We will be praying now in prayer connect groups for that which Pastor John is incubating, what he received (the revelation is not complete). We picked up things spiritually that now must incubate so that it can hatch because it’s for all of us.
