RESURRECTION LIFE
The word baptise comes from a Greek word – baptisma and consists of the process of immersion, submersion, and emergence. It is an opportunity for a believer to openly testify of their born-again experience and to identify with the death and the resurrection of Jesus.
Being submerged is a proclamation that the old you has died, that you have died to sin. Coming up out of the water signifies your resurrection to a new life in Christ. Being baptised is a God-encounter moment that opens up a whole new level of spiritual life for you.
” Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. “
Coming up out of the water signifies our being raised to new life in Christ. To be raised with Jesus means making Him Lord; spirit, soul and body. This includes making Him Lord in every area of your life; family, work, relationships, health, etc. with the Church being the centre of your world and all you do flowing from your relationship with the Body of Christ. The power of resurrection life enables us to live this way.
The great thing is if the Holy Spirit can bring Jesus to life, then He can bring anything in your life back to life – ANYTHING. There is nothing in your life that is too dark, or too bad, or too severe that He can’t bring it to life.
