MESSAGE HIGHLIGHT:

Consecration Fast – Ps Sharon Bendixen

During this week of fasting we will be focusing on consecrating our lives to the will and
plan of God for our lives at this time.
Another word for consecration is commitment.
The prayer of consecration is not a one-time prayer. The prayer of consecration is a
prayer you pray throughout your life. You will only be able to follow God’s plan for your
life if you constantly maintain an attitude of consecration and surrender to the Lord’s
will, whatever it might be.
There seems to be a lack of deep consecration to do God’s will among some
Christians today. God’s plan for their lives is hindered and many of His blessings are
not experienced because they haven’t fully consecrated themselves to do God’s will
instead of their own.
As you are fasting take time to consider your own consecration to the Lord. Consider
whether you are able to say from your heart,”
Lord, I’ll do whatever you ask me to do. I will go where you want me to go. I will stay
where you want me to stay’.
God wants us fully surrendered to His will. He knows if we are not willing to obey Him
in one area, that unwillingness will carry over into other areas of our lives and will hinder
us from running the race he has set before us.
The devil will bid high for you! He’ll use his best temptations to try to keep you from
obeying God.
If you have never fully surrendered everything to the Lord, you stand in danger of being
persuaded by the devil’s temptations to pursue your own will and fleshly inclinations
and desires and lose out on God’s best for you!
Some Christians think of all they need to give up in order to follow the Lord’s plans for
them!
It doesn’t cost to obey God! It Pays!
It will cost us not to obey God!
It’s so good over in the perfect will of God, where you’re fully surrendered, fully
dedicated, fully submitted to the will of God! It’s just so much better to obey God!
Here is a prayer of commitment that Ps John and I have been using for many years.
Speak this to the Lord from your heart everyday.
Do this as often as you can because the words will begin to penetrate your heart and
cause your consecration to become deeper.

That is the power of your speaking!
“Lord, I present myself to You.
May Your will be done in my life.
May I never forget that I have surrendered all that I am to You.
I commit myself to be one whom You can use—consecrated and separated to Your
plans and purposes!
I’ll pay the price of denying my flesh.
When you call me to pray I will pray, day or night!
If I am never seen of men and I always work behind the scenes, still I will be
faithful.
I lay aside all personal ambition.
I’ll be one who walks in the Spirit and in Your perfect will.
In Jesus Name, Your will shall be done in my heart, in my life and in my
assignment!!”
As you and I daily choose to obey God’s will and run the race He has set before us,
we will be a blessing to many and God will lead us to a wide open place; a place of
abundance and deep fulfillment in every area of our lives!!
Some scriptures to meditate on:
Jesus Himself prayed a prayer of commitment to the Father!
….Not as I will, but as You will….v42…Thy will be done. Matthew 26: 39
Look here, you who say,” Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will
stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.”
How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow?
Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone.
What you ought to say is, “ If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.”
Otherwise you are boasting about your own plans, and all such boasting is evil.
Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.
James 4: 13-15 NLT
……..he who does the will of God and carries out His purposes in his life abides and
remains forever. 1 John 2: 17 Amplified Bible
