I believe this is an order that God wants us to continue as a ministry one way or another, to have
different kinds of services, doing different kinds of things.
Chariots of Light, a ministry to bikers, was started many years ago by Brother Jerry, Brother
Copeland, and Brother Jesse Duplantis. That should be the ethos of every Christian; we’re
supposed to enjoy God and enjoy the good things of God, but we should also do things that help
other people. We are celebrating that God connected us with people (Chariots of Light), that had
the spiritual intuition to say, “We are not going to consider those people as lost. We are going to
dress like them, we are going to ride like them, but we are going to take the Light to them”.
There are many people (bikers) out there, that have a concept of what life is, and it doesn’t
include God. A lot of those people have made lifestyle choices that are not very good for them.
Pastor John shared the story of Brother Jerry’s cousin Wade Porter (a contest for a man’s life and
soul).
11-12
It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first
heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living,
part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone (Ephesians 1:11-12
MSG).
8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose, the
Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8 NKJV).
7-8 So, my dear children, don’t let anyone divert you from the truth. It’s the person who acts right
who is right, just as we see it lived out in our righteous Messiah. Those who make a practice of
sin are straight from the Devil, the pioneer in the practice of sin. The Son of God entered the
scene to abolish the Devil’s ways. 9-10 People conceived and brought into life by God don’t
make a practice of sin. How could they? God’s seed is deep within them, making them who they
are. It’s not in the nature of the God-begotten to practice and parade sin (1 John 3:7-9 MSG).

It is in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first

If we thought that the Christian life is about cleaning the person before he can come into the
church, we’ve got it all wrong. Our business is not to try and clean people before we bring them
to church, our business is to let Jesus clean them when they come to church. We’re not here for
our comfort – we are here for the world. We are here for people that don’t have an answer. The
reason we are on the earth is because Jesus died for us.
No good parent would on purpose let their kids go and play with snakes? They’d stop it, and will
tell their kids, “Be careful of that.” Our Heavenly Father is a good Heavenly Father.
Our Father is all about telling us what we should, and shouldn’t do to prevent pain and hardships.
Jesus, as an elder brother, the Firstborn, died for us and is saying to us,” Live in Me, live for Me,
believe in Me.”
The title of my message is: Jesus, the Person, the People, and the Purpose. The Purpose that
Jesus came for makes your purpose something very clear and evident.
You’re born with a reason and purpose. God never designs, creates, or lets anything into the
world without purpose. People are searching for their purpose all the time. They might use their
God-given skill, talent, assignment in places that glorifies themselves rather than glorifies God.
The most empty place you can live in your life is when you realize that your money, fame, or talent
is worthless if you’re doing it for you and not for God.
When you make Jesus the Lord and Saviour of your life, He saves you from yourself, getting you
to a place where some amazing things happen in your spirit, to abolish the devil’s ways. If you are
saved, you’re walking around with an amazing life force that is Jesus. Whatever habits you
struggle with, whatever you think is causing you not to live free, remember Wade’s story. He
didn’t come from the mountains clean. As he was coming out of the mountains, God purposed to
clean him. It wasn’t he who made himself clean, it was God who cleaned, and God who fixed him,
and God who restored his relationships, and God who saved him from death and an assassination
contract. If you will trust God, He will do the same for every area of your life.
If you have a habit, that you continue to keep doing, Jesus is going to send someone into your
life, the Holy Spirit, or a person that will tell you “Stop…. there are lots of alternatives”. (Pastor
John used having Future-life and coffee in the morning as an example). Habits are very powerful.
You might not want to give up a habit, but that doesn’t change that Jesus is alive in you. If you
say, “Hey Lord, I really want to do the best that I can do for me and for You and give myself in the
best possible way that I can give myself to You. Please help me to quit that stuff and help me to
make better choices.”
You do not need to try it on your own, what you need to do is let the power of God work in you.
You just keep speaking it and one day you are just going to be “not interested” and “walk out”.
That’s how the Word of God works in a Christian that has to get rid of something. It is not for you
to get rid of it, it is for the Word of God to grow up in you, that gets rid of it. If you get into the
presence of God long enough, there isn’t a bad habit that can hold you and can control you and
hold on to you. There is nothing in your life that God can’t deal with. He can fix everything. God
is powerful enough, He’s strong enough, He’s amazing enough to be able to fix things that
couldn’t be fixed.
This platform (Chariots of Light) is to go and touch people where they live their lives, (people who
are damaged, bruised, broken, and have no future), and go and tell them about Jesus. Bringing
them the ointment, the oil of healing, and restoration. To bring Jesus to them, and then He can
clean them up His way. It’s not for us to get people clean but Jesus can, that’s what He died for.
Jesus died so that all of those things can be forgiven and forgotten, and people can live as
normal, new, clean, human beings.
